Gymnastics

We have loved doing to gymnastics!! We are gutted that today was our last session. We have learnt to tuck, pike and saddle jump, roll forwards and backwards, climb, jump and balance!

Discovery and wonder

We have been discovering the wonderful world of water beads...
This is a great sensory experience for our children and has scientific elements as well.

Yoga - A journey through India

Emma took us on  a journey to India. We learnt about the animals and foods of India. We learnt about the weather, clothes, animals and food. We also celebrated and learnt about Diwali. We made rangoli patterns, milk sweets and lanterns.

Week 2 - Mrs Wishy-washy, car races and math games

Mrs Wishy-washy as a big focus for our children this week as they drew pictures and told stories about her and the animals on the farm. Lots of great creative writing came out of it.

With Miss Ravindran and Mrs McIntrye both away towards the end of the week, we thought the car rally wasn't going to happen...and then the rain set in on Friday! Mr McFunn came to the rescue and we made our very own ramp for the cars to roll down. This activity was helping children to make sense of the mathematic principle of probability...who was going to win?

We played maths games to help us build our number knowledge too.

Super week back at school!

 We have had a "SUPER' start to Term 4.

We have built lairs, planned traps to catch the bad guys, weaved our way through lasers to save little furries, hid our identies with masks, battled slime, phoned superheros and so much more.

We also learnt that not all heros wear capes like doctors, nurses, teaches, mums or dads. Oh and flash too!

Thank you to the families who came to watch our incredible super kids. I apologies for our technical difficulties but didn't the children do great!!!

Duffy performance was amazing!!!

We really liked the Duffy performance this week. Some of the highlights were…

Sage: My favourite part was the ninjas, the way they moved.

Myah: I liked the bit with the flips.

Shyella: I liked it when the kids let us ask questions.

Philippa: I liked the ninjas, the noises that they made.

Jasmine: I liked the girl ninja because she was sneaky.

Danielle: I liked the dress with the flowers.

Kesaia: I liked the dad, that he was a soldier.

Sheldon: I liked that part where the soldier did the slow motion.

Levi: I liked the ninja because of the music.

Treidyn: I liked the ninja when he flew across.

Hoani: I liked the ninja when he slid.

Braedyn: I liked the soldier, he was about to die.

Jasper: I liked the boy soldier, he was funny.

Riley: I liked the ninja when he slid.

Patterns

This week we have been learning about patterns. We looked around and found patterns in our classroom, then we made some patterns ourselves. We used our bodies and what we were wearing to make patterns, and realised that there could be more than one pattern.


Our artwork has patterns - landscape/portrait/landscape/portrait...


Our teacher was making a boy/girl/boy/girl pattern, but we discovered that there was more than once pattern, can you see the others? There are four other patterns.
