Enjoying the sun and learning outside
We worked outside with He Puna Aranga to practice our letters and words in a different way. We used our new chalks and worked together this sunny spring day to write as many words as we could.

HOLT creations - Travish
Making Anzac Biscuits
Nate's Mum Steph came in on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and helped us make our own Anzac cookies. We had to follow a recipe and mix the ingredients together. We weren't too keen on shaping our cookies with our own hands. Here is Myah's thinking.
App: Blogger J
We are learning how to use an iPad app called Blogger Jr. Today Miss Ravindran created each of us an account so that we will hopefully be able to share some of our HOLT learning with you.
Here is a picture of us she took while explaining to us how to use the photo function.
Harold - Life Education
We had a great time at Harold on Friday. We had to do his homework for him by solving the puzzle of what our body needs as well as sorting our emotions by what we like and don't like!
We think Harold is hilarious and super cheeky. Some of us think he is just a puppet but Miss Ravindran thinks he is real.
Rock Hunting
Last week we went rock hunting. Our buddy class hid them around the school and we had to find them. They painted the rocks and wrote their names.
Here is a slide show of us and our new buddy 'rocks'.
Some were really easy to find. Some where more tricky to find. We had to go around the school twice. Still missed some but our big buddies came and helped us.
Here we are with our 'buddy' rocks! We can't wait to meet you in person on Monday.

Big Book: Meanies
We have been reading the big book "The Meanies" and "The Meanies Go To School" . We realised that the meanies are like bucket dippers.
We then had a wondering. "What would happen IF friendlies came to school?" We then used our imagination to write our own friendlies big book! Come visit our class to read it.
Habits of Mind: Working together
He Puna Oranga has had a great time coming back to school. We are working on slipping back into our positive routines by focus on the HOMs habit of working together.
Here we are having to work together to get the hoop around the circle without our hands. We found that moving the hoop or moving through the hoop to get it around the circle was easy when it was our turn but we found it hard when people didn't listen to our kids or just used their arms to pull us.

We also worked together with another class to create our own birthday hats to celebrate Carlton School's 60th birthday! Thank you Room 4 for helping and hosting us!
